[UI/UX] Designing for Dark Mode: Color Theory & Contrast
Dark mode is not just inverted colors. Using pure black (#000000) and pure white (#FFFFFF) causes eye strain (halation effect) for users. Here is how to design properly.

- Background Tones: Use dark grays (e.g., #121212 or #1A1A1B) instead of pure black. It reduces eye fatigue and makes shadows visible.
- Text Contrast: Avoid stark white text. Use off-white or light gray (e.g., #E0E0E0) for paragraphs to soften the reading experience.
- Desaturated Accents: Bright neon colors vibrate against dark backgrounds. Lower the saturation of your primary brand colors by 20-30% when applying them to buttons or links in dark mode.
